If I had to say what has most influenced my perspective on learning, I would say video games. Video games not only teach players how the game works as they play but also reward the behaviors they want to encourage. This focus on behavior change is similar to effective learning methods. And how do we achieve this? By using adult learning theory to guide our development.
When I am not helping people learn, I can be found writing music for my DND games, playing guitar, and wandering the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley. I’m also part of a large Pokémon Go group, which guarantees that I get my steps in every day!
